Students Collaborate at Yearbook Camp

Middle and high school yearbook students attended a yearbook camp on August 16 and 17 held at YISS. It was an electrifying start to the new school year, all thanks to the hard work of Ms. Roberts, the middle school yearbook teacher, and her enthusiastic co-host, Ms. Roop. This two-day camp was packed with energy and excitement as the students came together to brainstorm and develop this year’s theme, build a strong sense of teamwork, and lay the foundation for what promises to be an incredible yearbook. The goal was clear: deepen connections, ignite creativity, and start the year with a bang!

One of the camp's most thrilling moments was choosing the yearbook theme, which remains a closely guarded secret for now. Students were brimming with ideas and creativity, working together in brainstorming sessions and collaborative activities that challenged students to grow and learn. The camp wasn’t just about developing a theme; it was about building a community spirit and ensuring that everyone felt involved in creating something special. Over the two days, the students reflected on this year's school annual theme of “Power of One.”

Adding to the excitement was the announcement of YISS’ switch from InDesign to Jostens for the yearbook creation. This change sparked enthusiasm among the students, as Jostens offers a range of incredible new features that will elevate the yearbook to new heights. With Jostens, students will have access to more customization options, allowing students to tailor every page to capture the spirit of our school. The easy photo sharing and editing tools make it simpler than ever for students to collaborate and contribute, ensuring that everyone’s best moments are included. Plus, the enhanced graphics and design capabilities promise to make this year’s yearbook not just a collection of memories but a work of art.

Students were immersed in every activity, sharing their ideas and bonding over their love of creativity. Delicious snacks provided a perfect energy boost, keeping everyone fueled and focused. The yearbook is more than just a book; it’s a beloved tradition that brings the YISS community together, capturing the essence of the school and creating lasting memories. Thanks to the hard work of Ms. Roberts, Ms. Roop, and the students, this year’s yearbook camp was an unforgettable experience, setting the stage for a productive year ahead!
