Academics

The instructional program at YISS consists of a curriculum framework based on Common Core Standards and other US based learning standards. Courses are designed to challenge students academically and help them to think critically and creatively, with a distinctive biblical worldview.

Elementary School Academics

The elementary academic program works to develop strong foundational literacy and mathematical skills, while providing focused instruction in science, social studies, physical education, art, music, technology, and world languages. Students also have Bible class (NICS) or character education instruction (Oasis).

Middle School Academics

The middle school academic program is designed to be rigorous and challenging, but also offer a variety of options to inspire a love for learning. The core subjects are Bible (NICS) or philosophy (Oasis), English language arts, mathematics, history, and science. Physical education, art, choir, band, orchestra, technology, world languages, and electives are taught as well.

The high school seeks to challenge and encourage students with an academic program thoroughly grounded in a moral, Biblical worldview that prepares them well for the rigors of higher education and the demands of their chosen careers. Most students go far beyond the basic high school graduation requirements and follow a more challenging plan of study.
