Taehoon K. Makes History in WIDPSC Championships

In April, sophomore Taehoon K. competed and won 2nd place in the Grand Finals in the After Dinner Speaking category of the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC). In the event, high school students from Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, India, South Africa, Australia, South Korea, and other countries from around the world gathered online to perform their speeches at the biggest high school speech tournament in the world.

Taehoon was the first finalist from South Korea for the After Dinner category and the first After Dinner Grand Finalist from South Korea in the event's history. In the category, competitors aimed to evoke laughter from the crowd through nuanced examinations of world issues through both simple and complex humor.

Taehoon not only represented our school well, but he also made history for South Korea in the event. Congratulations, Taehoon!
