Third Grade Duck Tales

During the fourth quarter, students in the 3rd grade took part in a weeks-long project. They experienced, up close and personal, the duck life cycle as they observed ducklings incubate for 28 days and then hatch. It’s been an incredible experience for students to witness this process firsthand.

In science class, we have also been studying inherited traits. Students made some great observations about our hatched ducklings and which traits they might have inherited from their parents. Other than inheritance, we learned about the needs of plants and animals to survive, including our tiny ducklings.

The excitement has been at an all-time high as the students have enjoyed sharing their classrooms with their new tiny classmates.
