Curriculum Review Process Set To Adopt New Learning Resources
At YISS, the curriculum undergoes a comprehensive review each year as part of a structured six-year cycle, ensuring that all subjects and grade levels are evaluated and updated. This process allows us to maintain high academic standards, align with best practices, and provide students with the most effective and up-to-date learning materials.
Secondary Science Curriculum Review
Over the past several months, the secondary science team has been deeply involved in the review of the curriculum. This process, considered a best practice among international schools, allows teachers and administrators to evaluate and strengthen the science curriculum and resources, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of students. The review is progressing smoothly and is on track to finalize decisions and place orders before spring break. These updates will equip secondary science teachers with both physical and digital resources, empowering them to continue fostering critical thinking and providing high-quality instruction to their students.
Elementary Science Curriculum Review
The elementary science team has also conducted a thorough review, assessing over nine different program samples to identify the most suitable option for their students. After narrowing down the choices, the team sought input from all elementary school teachers on the finalists. The primary objective is to select a program that not only ignites excitement about science but also provides numerous hands-on learning opportunities. The goal is to have the new materials in place before the end of the school year, allowing teachers time to familiarize themselves with the resources in preparation for the upcoming academic year in August.
