The MUN Team Wins Best Delegation at GECMUN XI

From February 28 to March 1, the YISS Model United Nations team traveled to Jeju for GECMUN XI. YISS’s 19 delegates, 3 chairs, and 1 under-secretariat dealt with real-world topics ranging from the illicit trade of wildlife to addressing gun control in 21st-century USA. Over eight committee sessions, YISS delegates made passionate speeches, collaborated diplomatically, and wrote a variety of resolutions and directives to solve problems effectively.

During the trip, the YISS team enjoyed competitive rounds of bowling, exciting rides at the amusement park, and delicious meals of Jeju black pork. The group also spent the afternoons and evenings participating in conference debriefs and team bonding.

At closing ceremonies, YISS was honored with the “Best Delegation” award out of the 16 schools from over 6 different countries. The following members won individual awards:
