MS SEW Fosters Freedom and Strength
For MS SEW, middle school students spent an invigorating week of learning from special guest speakers! From January 20 to 23, students had the chance to listen to the visiting band, FRVR FREE, and played fun, learning activities that built leadership and teamwork.
For Special Emphasis Week, middle school Oasis students engaged in a musical theatre workshop led by Brad Little, a musical theatre actor celebrated for his iconic portrayal of the Phantom in “The Phantom of the Opera.” With over 2,700 performances, he ranks among the longest-running Phantoms in history. He has brought to life unforgettable roles in acclaimed productions such as “Jekyll & Hyde,” “Les Misérables,” “The Sound of Music,” and more. Mr. Little taught students about enhancing creativity and collaboration. Students then competed in a scavenger hunt around the school campus and other lively team-building activities.
The middle school students also embarked on a community service trip to the Korea Legacy Kitchen, a soup kitchen for elderly citizens opened by the Korea Legacy Committee (KLC) in Yongsan-gu, Bogwang-dong. The students prepared fruit bowls for the elderly citizens and wrote heartfelt notes, embodying compassion and a servant-hearted spirit. The experience taught them the profound impact of empathy and community service.
For Spiritual Emphasis Week, middle school NICS students gathered together for a special time of worship led by the band FRVR FREE. A series of speakers explored the theme “Freedom: Liberated to Live for Christ” and unpacked how Christ liberates us from the bondage of sin and fear and allows us to live a life that honors God and reflects His love for others.
