Middle School Swim Makes a Splash at KAIAC Championship
The middle school swim team capped off a successful season at the KAIAC Middle School Championship on March 15, 2025. The event brought together over 100 swimmers from seven international schools across Seoul, and YISS finished strong, placing 3rd overall in the team standings. Many of the YISS swimmers delivered personal best performances and displayed remarkable team spirit throughout the competition.
The YISS girls’ 200m medley relay team—Elisha C. (8), Camila H. (8), Raina C. (8), and Abigail L. (8)—powered their way to a 1st-place finish. The same group also delivered an impressive swim to secure 2nd place in the 200m freestyle relay.
Individually, several swimmers stood out with top-three finishes:
Yunejay L. (8) finished 1st in both the 50m backstroke and the 100m freestyle.
Abigail L. (8) earned 1st place in the 100m individual medley and took 2nd in the 100m freestyle.
Raina C. (8) placed 2nd in the 50m backstroke.
Aden Lee (8) finished 2nd in the 100m individual medley and 3rd in the 50m breaststroke.
Camila H. (8) swam to 2nd in the 50m butterfly and 3rd in the 100m freestyle.
Elisha C. (8) grabbed 3rd in both the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.
Special recognition goes to Abigail L., Camila H., and Yunejay L., who were selected to the All-KAIAC Team for their outstanding performances this season.
Beyond these individual results, the success of the YISS swim team was a true team effort. Every swimmer contributed points in individual events and relays, demonstrating depth and resilience across the roster. Whether it was pushing through tough races, cheering on teammates, or supporting each other on the pool deck, every swimmer played a key role in the team’s 3rd-place finish. The strong showing from both returning swimmers and first-time competitors highlighted the growing talent and determination within the YISS swim program.
Congratulations to all swimmers for a fantastic season filled with personal growth, teamwork, and achievement!
