Super Guardians Have a Super Time at ES Field Day 2023

Elementary Field Day 2023 took place on Thursday, May 4. This annual event happens in the spring of every school year, just to have fun, learn teamwork, and exercise together. On this particular Thursday, the weather was perfect for the outdoor events! 

The day started with the Opening Ceremony and Super Hero warm-up dance. There was even a surprise visit from The Black Ninja (Mr. Rayburn) and The Pink Unicorn (Ms. Samson)! Kindergarten through 5th grade students then went up to the soccer field and enjoyed games and activities based on superheroes. Many students and staff were decked out in superhero clothes or their house colors. The events could not have happened without the hardworking, energetic parent volunteers who led the various stations spanning the entire soccer field.

In the afternoon, students went to grade-specific activities where each grade got to do something special. Throughout the morning activities and afternoon sessions, the four house teams earned points based on the results of their contests. During the closing ceremony that afternoon, the Yellow Hornets were crowned the champions of Field Day 2023.
