Students, Staff, and Parents Are Better Together at MS Field Day

On April  28, middle school students, teachers, administrators, and parents came together and enjoyed a fantastic field day. This day was a great example for students to see the power of the YISS community when we all work together to achieve a common goal. All hands were on deck, and the result was a high-energy, fun-filled day of celebrating physical activity and team building.

Students participated in an array of activities including spike ball, ping pong, pickle ball, water balloon toss, and corn hole, as well as traditional track and field events like high jump and races. Students also spent hours preparing cardboard boats for their teachers to race in the YISS Aquatics Center. Mr. Roper came out on top in the race, but no teacher came out dry.

Field day ended with a staff vs. students basketball face-off, with both teams showing impressive skill. It was back-and-forth for a while, with teachers putting up a few three-pointers and 8th graders fighting through intense defense, but the teachers pulled out the victory in the end.

Congratulations to the White Team for defending their title and winning MS Field Day 22-23 by collecting the most team points throughout the day’s events. What a great day of team building, pushing through limits, and enjoying the beautiful weather!
