Paper Rollercoasters Demonstrate Kinetic and Potential Energy
On December 15, the entire 7th grade came together to participate in the Paper Rollercoaster Project. This annual event, now in its third year, invited parents and other students to witness the culmination of weeks of hard work, creativity, and scientific ingenuity.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students had been immersed in the principles of physics and engineering as they designed and constructed intricate rollercoasters entirely out of paper. Armed with rulers, scissors, tape, and an abundance of imagination, they transformed simple sheets of paper into thrilling rides complete with loops, twists, and turns.
On the day of the Rollercoaster Fair, the school lobby was abuzz with activity as students put the finishing touches on their creations, ensuring that every loop was secure and every twist perfectly executed. Students proudly showcased their designs, eagerly explaining the science behind their creations to fascinated onlookers.
From gravity-defying loops to heart-pounding drops, each rollercoaster was a testament to the students' effort and dedication. The Paper Rollercoaster Project not only provided a hands-on learning experience in physics and engineering but also fostered teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
