Three YISS Students Win Prizes at ESU Speaking Competition

In March, three YISS students were chosen as prize winners in the 20th English-Speaking Union (ESU) Korea Public Speaking Competition. Students competed in four different age categories where they gave four to five-minute speeches for judges live on Youtube. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the speaking competition was held virtually this year, and the organizers chose to publish the winning speeches on Youtube.

Our accomplished students were chosen from over 1,000 applicants to compete with 32 finalists per category. Sixth-grader Seunghun L. won the Highest Grand Prize for his category, tenth-grader Grace K. won the Bronze Prize in her category, and the Excellence Prize went to third-grader Nayoon L. We are so proud of our three YISS representatives who made YISS the only school in the competition with more than two prize winners!
