MUN Places Second in Online GECMUN Conference
On February 26-27, the YISS Model United Nations Club competed virtually at the Global Education City Model United Nations conference this weekend. Students managed to prevent an arms race in space, save hostages, reverse the decline of Olympian gods, and even end the Korean War in the 1950s. Speeches were presented, discussions were had, collaboration was pursued, plans were made, and resolutions were achieved. YISS students made our community proud with their tenacity, creativity, agility, skill, and leadership.
Concluding the conference, the following students won awards:
9th Grade: Catherine K., Verbal Commendation; Claire L., Verbal Commendation; and Sumin B., Verbal Commendation.
10th Grade: Ashton S., Best Delegate; and Rachel K., Best Delegate.
11th Grade: Angela D., Verbal Commendation; and Rhea R., Honorable Mention.
A big shoutout to our chairs, Hannah K., Grace K., Siyeon L., and Emily S., and deputy secretary-general Nathan H..
Overall, YISS, in a tight race with SIS, earned second place as the Outstanding Delegation.
