MS Cross Country Cruises to Championship

On October 12, the MS Cross Country team traveled to Chadwick International in Songdo for the 2024 MS KAIAC Cross Country Championship Race. The girls championship race consisted of the top runners from each of the following schools: CDS, CI, GSIS, KIS, SFS, SIS, TCIS, and YISS. Among all 47 runners to finish the race, the top 5 finishers were all from YISS - a record setting performance that led to back-to-back conference championships and the sixth conference championship in the last 10 years.

The YISS Girls championship runners consisted of Abigail L. (7), Lily C. (8), Mia T. (7), Camila H. (8), Judy K. (6), Lynn K. (7), and Christine K. (8). Among the runners, Abigail L. placed 1st place, Lily C. placed second, and Mia T. placed third. Abigail L. (12:24.5), Lily C. (12:43.6), Mia T. (12:45.2), Camila H. (13:15.3), and Judy K. (13:24.5) received All-Conference Awards for their performance.

The 1st Place Team finish from the girls team awarded YISS with 4 points towards the 2024-2025 MS KAIAC Cup.

The YISS Boys championship runners consisted of Aden L. (8), Justin S. (8), Dylan H. (7), Julian P. (8), Julian S. (8), Jayden J. (8), and Sang Yoon L. (6). The boys team competed against the top runners from CDS, CI, KIS, SFS, SIS, and TCIS. Among the 47 runners, Aden L. (2nd Place) and Justin S. (5th Place) led the way for the YISS boys team resulting in a 2nd place team finish. Aden L. (11:19.7) and Justin S. (12:11.9) also received All-Conference Awards for their performance during the championship race.

The 2nd Place Team finish from the boys team awarded YISS with 3 points towards the 2024-2025 MS KAIAC Cup.
