Chants, grunts, screams, and laughter echoed off the peaceful mountains of Namyangiu as YISS Middle Schoolers slid into their fabulous 2022 Spiritual Retreat. This one-day event took place at the Vision Land Retreat Center on September 25. 

Students participated in a wide range of exciting activities including tug-of-war, water balloon parachute catch, badminton, and the highlight for many students, a 100-meter mountain slide which hurtled them down the slope again and again. 

More reflective activities included a large group devotion and small group discussions that allowed students to connect with each other and to consider the role that community plays in their lives. MS chaplain, Mr. Atkinson, shared some Biblical wisdom on being “Better Together,” and students shared with each other about how they can support others as well as find help from their family, friends, and the YISS faculty. 

A yummy lunch, lots of snacks, and an easy road trip through the rolling hills topped off this perfect getaway for our middle schoolers. A warm thank you to all the teachers and staff who helped make the day a huge success!
