Kindergarteners Proudly March in a “Writers” Parade

Kindergarten students recently finished a unit on writing narrative essays. Students learned about how writing is just telling a story, but on paper. They worked hard, conveying their stories through pictures and words. At the end of the unit, students celebrated by participating in a Writers’ Parade.

Students made “We Are Writers” crowns and chose their best stories to hold as they marched around the school. The teachers led the students by blowing a train whistle. Each time the whistle blew, the students chanted, “We are Writers!” The elementary administrative team and related arts teachers came to show their support for all the hard work that the kindergarteners had poured into their stories.
