Aquatics Hosts Record-Breaking Jingle Bell Splash

This year’s Jingle Bell Splash on Saturday, December 6, was the largest edition yet, with 703 swimmers from schools participating in 2,089 individual entries, 373 heats, and 54 events packed into 12 hours of competition. As part of the KAIAC Age Group Swim Series (KASS), this meet brought together 17 schools from across the Korean peninsula.

Despite the intensity of the meet, our YISS Guardians delivered outstanding performances and secured numerous top-3 finishes across all age groups. Here are some of the individual highlights:

Girls’ Highlights

  • Lina K. (3) won first place in the 25 meter Backstroke (20.94)

  • Inah K. (7) won first place and set a new YISS record in the 50 meter Backstroke (34.32)

  • Abigail L. (8) won first place in the 50 meter Backstroke (33.24)

  • Corinne C. (11) won first place in the 50 meter Backstroke (33.69) and the 50 meter Butterfly (31.46)

  • Chloe P. (11) won first place and set a new YISS record in the 200 meter Backstroke (2:43.05)

  • Bella P. (12) won first place in the 200 meter Breaststroke (3:17.68)

Boys’ Highlights

  • Max G. (12) won first place in the 50 meter Freestyle (24.82)

  • Yunejay L. (9) won first place and set a new YISS and KASS record in the 100 meter IM (59.64) and first place in the 50 meter Breaststroke (31.69)

  • Inho K. (10) won first place in the 100 meter Butterfly (1:03.72)

The Jingle Bell Splash was a spectacular swim event, filled with record-breaking performances and impressive victories by many YISS swimmers. The achievements at this meet underscore the dedication and skills of our Guardian swimmers. A huge thank you to all volunteers, and especially to the JBS Committee, whose dedication and hard work made this event possible.
