Best Thespian award winners Tiffany K. (12), Luke K. (11), Alexis K. (11), and Sharania M. (11)

On the evening of Friday, May 19, the International Thespian Society celebrated their 2023-24 performance season of Alice in Wonderland and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Sixteen students were inducted into the society, and many others received awards for their contributions to acting, technical work, and service to theatre. The event featured skits reflecting on the season and concluded with the pledge to “act well their parts, for therein all the honor lies.”

Students Tiffany K. (12), Luke K. (11), Alexis K. (11), and Sharania M. (11) received the Best Thespian award for earning over 400 points in theatre activities.

Per tradition, graduating seniors Tiffany K., Annis C., Eugene K., Luna L., Juliana A., and Divine K. were honored with graduation cords.

This year, the ITS introduced the “Good Neighbors” program, which fosters connections with other thespian groups in Seoul. ITS officers invited other schools to attend each other’s performances, strengthening the theatre community. Luke K., ITS Vice President, said, “To see our ITS be a part of a bigger theatrical community through this program is something truly remarkable – to consistently see warm familiar faces at our productions this year as well as being just as supportive of their star-striking shows as well. Through the reigniting of this program, I believe ITS was able to appreciate the theatrical arts in an even more multi-dimensional perspective and form meaningful and supportive connections with other thespians in Seoul.”

Thank you to everyone who supported theatre this season through volunteer work, attending shows, and encouraging our students.
