Girls Varsity Volleyball Celebrate as KAIAC Champions

The YISS Varsity Volleyball had a triumphant season that earned them the title of the KAIAC Regular Season Champions! The girls finished the season with an impressive regular-season record of 10-0 without dropping a single set to the opposing teams in the KAIAC Conference. ACSC was hosted at YISS and welcomed schools from Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The players excitedly introduced the visiting teams to Korea and participated in an opening ceremony, service projects, and competition together. YISS faced many talented teams in the initial round-robin play with YISS earning the #1 seed in the tournament after many hard-fought matches. The excitement continued as the team started bracket play. YISS overcame a close match against Morrison, ultimately winning in the 5th set to advance to the championship match. The girls played Faith in the championship and won the 2nd place title in the 4-set match. With their success in the tournament, many athletes also had the chance to be recognized at the closing ceremonies. Helena, Christine, and Maya were named to the All-Tournament Team. Helena also received the award for Best Server, while Jaelyn received Best Passer.

Following the thrill of ACSC, the team launched into one more week of practice before completing their season with the KAIAC Tournament. The level of competition was high as YISS beat Dwight School Seoul and Osan to secure their place in the championship match. The final match was a nail-biter against SFS, as the two teams faced off in an exhilarating 5-set match. The YISS Guardians fell 13-15 in the final set, ultimately earning the 2nd place title.

At the conclusion of the tournament, players from each school were honored for their contributions to the successful season.
