HS Cross Country Finishes Fall Season with New Records

Guardian cross country recently wrapped up their season with a final, time trial event on our YISS campus course. Several runners posted either season-best or career-best times to end the season on a high note. Despite not having face-to-face interscholastic competitions this fall, Guardian runners had a successful season which focused on team unity and the joy of running. YISS runners did have the opportunity to participate in an unofficial virtual race which compared 5km times with runners from other KAIAC schools. Timothy Park (‘22) posted the top boys’ time and finished his YISS XC career by breaking the boys’ school record. We are proud of all of the YISS XC runners who showed exceptional determination and effort this fall.

Boys’ team award winners included Timothy Park (MVP Award), David Lee (Coach’s Award), Daniel Pool (Guardian Award), and Nathan Cho (Spirit Award).

Girls’ team award winners included seniors Alex Lee (MVP Award), Tanya Kataria (Guardian Award), Brooke Banta (Coach’s Award), and Abigail Oh (Spirit Award).

Pictured below are the seniors from the 2021 season. Congratulations, Guardians!
