ES SEW Energizes NICS and Oasis Students

ES Special/Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) is always a special week for students, but this year’s was particularly memorable thanks to special guests, FRVR FREE. Hailing from Atlanta, members of this Christian band delivered powerful songs and timeless words of wisdom for young and old alike from January 26 to February 1.

Each of these four days was packed full of games, singing, dancing, and personal reflection on meaningful topics. For NICS, the FRVR FREE team focused on how, if we abide in Jesus, we will grow in God’s love, while for the Oasis students, the team shared how to develop a life of love, joy, peace, and kindness.

The band provided a highly engaging time in the auditorium separately each morning for NICS and Oasis classes and also visited classes to answer spiritual and life questions from students. Students responded from the heart to the messages shared, with many expressing how the week’s activities helped them grow.

The band extended their impact by offering a free evening concert to the wider YISS community on January 31. With approximately 400 parents, students, and other family members in attendance, the event was a resounding success leaving the audience thoroughly entertained and positively uplifted. Witnessing such enthusiastic participation underscored the essence of SEW - fostering connection and inspiration within our community. That’s what SEW is all about!
