Gaming Guardians Have an Epic Time at ES Field Day

Elementary Field Day 2024 was an unforgettable experience for many of our elementary students on Tuesday, April 30! This highly anticipated annual event brings our elementary school community together each spring to celebrate fun, teamwork, and healthy living. This year’s Field Day was blessed with perfect weather, setting the stage for an action-packed day outdoors.

The excitement began with an Opening Ceremony featuring a warm welcome from Luigi (Mr. Rayburn) and Mario (Mr. Poyo). The crowd was thrilled by their appearance, adding an extra dose of magic to the festivities. And who could forget the thrilling teacher's competition? In a nail-biting showdown, Ms. Leinen snatched the title from Mr. Beam in a closely contested match that felt like a real David and Goliath scene! The students were on the edge of their seats, cheering on their favorite teachers in this epic battle.

Students from Kindergarten through 5th grade flocked to the football field, eager to participate in an array of super guardian-themed games and activities. The sight of many students and staff dressed in super guardian costumes or proudly wearing their house colors added to the vibrant atmosphere.

Our fantastic parent volunteers were the true heroes of the day, energetically managing various stations that filled the entire soccer field. Their dedication ensured that every student had a memorable experience. The morning was filled with non-stop fun as students engaged in a variety of activities, earning points for their house teams along the way. The excitement continued into the afternoon with grade-specific activities designed just for them. Kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 5th graders bounced to their hearts’ content on two giant bounce houses, while 3rd graders splashed around in the swimming pool, and 4th graders battled for the title of basketball champions.

As the day drew to a close, the anticipation built for the closing ceremony. Cheers erupted as the Yellow Hornets were crowned the champions of Field Day 2024, capping off a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and school spirit.
