ES Digs Through Ancient Marketplace During VBS
On May 27-31, our elementary attended Vacation Bible School for NICS students and Values Based School for Oasis students. Elementary VBS is always a great way to end the year! The elementary likes to end the year with VBS because it encourages the student body and allows them to enjoy and celebrate each other before the summer break.
This year’s theme was “Ancient Marketplace,” where we dove into the wisdom of the ancient world. We asked the question, “How can we become and stay happy?” NICS students dove into the wisdom of the Bible through the life of Jesus. Oasis classes dug into Greek philosophy using collaborative activities to search for answers. All students found that investing in Love, Peace, and Joy are sure ways to find happiness.
Each grade in the ES went to three stations for three different afternoons. They engaged in lessons and songs, creative crafts, and exciting games, all at different places in the school. One activity the students particularly enjoyed was crafting in the elementary gym. The whole room was decorated to make it feel like an “Ancient Marketplace” and, as each grade did the craft together, the marketplace was buzzing!
This year’s VBS was a fruitful time for the elementary students as it equipped them with wise ways to acquire and maintain a happy life through the summer and beyond.
