Varsity Swim Inspires Younger Athletes at Spring Invitational

On a beautiful late spring Saturday, YISS Aquatics hosted the 12th edition of the annual Spring Invitational. On May 13, 90 students, ranging from five to 18 years old, came to chase their personal records in front of a crowd of parents and friends gathered on the pool balcony.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the relay races, where teams formed by students of different genders and ages, ranging from six to 18 years old, competed for the pleasure of swimming, without timing. There's no doubt that the participation of some of our varsity swimmers inspired and encouraged the younger ones.

On behalf of the YISS Aquatics Department, I would like to thank:

  • the swimmers, who are the heart and the reason why we organize these events throughout the year.

  • all the parents and friends who have come to support the swimmers throughout the year at YISS, Chadwick, and SFS.

  • all the volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to make these events possible and of high quality. Your contributions are truly appreciated!

  • the staff, lifeguards, nurses, and coaches who contributed to the successful execution of the swim season and ensured the safety of the hundreds of swimmers. Your dedication and expertise are invaluable.

With a year full of swimming, our aquatics program is excited for future seasons to come. Look forward to an announcement at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year with an overview of the upcoming swimming season and a list of important dates to note in your agenda!

Long live swimming and go Guardians!
