NHS Fundraises For Syria with Easter Candy Grams

Leading up to Easter, the YISS National Honor Society (NHS) organized a charity event selling candy grams to the entire high school community. When sales were finalized, NHS members packed each candy bundle and delivered it to homerooms. All proceeds from the candy gram sales were donated to the Syrian American Medical Society, a humanitarian organization that provides vital medical assistance to those affected by the recent catastrophic earthquake in Syria.

The Easter Candy Grams event was an excellent opportunity for individuals to spread happiness and make a positive impact on a YISS high schooler’s life by including personalized notes along with the candy.

Through their purchases, YISS community members also made a small yet significant difference in the lives of those struggling in Syria.

NHS's initiative exemplified thoughtful community service, which is a primary goal of the club.
