2nd Graders Become Bridge-Building Engineers
YISS students in our elementary program receive plenty of opportunities to not only learn important concepts, but also apply what they have learned to the real world. Our 2D class became bridge builders this quarter after students finished their unit on the engineering and design process in science.
Students did an incredible job designing and constructing their unique bridges using a variety of materials, such as straws, chopsticks, cardboard, and masking tape. Teams of students worked together to construct sturdy bridges by incorporating some of the science and engineering concepts that they had learned. The completed masterpieces are now proudly displayed in the window sills of the 2nd grade hallway. We invite you to come by and view them!
