YISS Hosts Over 100 Universities So Far This Year

With travel restrictions lifted after COVID-19, YISS has welcomed over a hundred university representatives to our campus already this school year. On any given day, there are university representatives from around the world meeting with our high school students in the Secondary Media Center. These visits offer an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about universities with which they might already be familiar and others new to them. Exposing students to a wide range of universities helps them be open-minded when considering post-graduation options. These visits are also a great opportunity for universities to learn more about YISS and the education we offer our students. University representatives often leave our campus saying how impressed they are by the caliber and kindness of our students, and we love knowing that others think as highly of our students as we do.

In addition to our private visits, we have hosted a number of evening university information sessions open to our students and the greater Seoul community. On September 3, we started the year by hosting Pomona, Swarthmore, and Williams, three small yet highly selective liberal arts universities. Then, on September 23, we welcomed Georgetown, Northwestern, Dartmouth, Duke, and Vanderbilt to our campus. We also hosted the University of Pennsylvania and Brown University on October 12.

On October 20, we also welcomed 18 universities from the United Kingdom. We started the program with a presentation about the key differences between studying in the United Kingdom and the United States, highlighting which locations might suit the needs of students better. This was followed by a fair where students spoke with the admissions officers.

We look forward to hosting more colleges and universities for the benefit of our students throughout the remainder of the year.
