YISS Aquatics Staff Complete Lifeguard Instructor Course

In August, Mr. Silas Barker (Aquatics Director), Mr. John Sampan (Aquatics Instructor), and Mr. Michael Suhany (HS Social Studies & HS & MS Swim Head Coach) took part in a Lifeguard Instructor course led by Ellis & Associates hosted here, at our YISS pool.

The course included instructor training in ILTP™ (International Lifeguard Training Program) aquatic rescue techniques, first aid, healthcare provider CPR, Emergency Oxygen Support, and Automated External Defibrillation as a first responder. 

This safety course is one of the ways our staff works to provide a safe environment for our students. By completing this course, our aquatics staff are now qualified to offer lifeguard training to other YISS faculty.
