MS Students Write and Perform Their Own Drama
Would you like to be more self-confident? Do you have a flair for the dramatic? Does speaking with an accent appeal to you? If so, you should have been a part of the 7th grade drama production of "The Almost But Not Quite Christmas Gone Wrong."
The ten students in the class worked together brainstorming, writing, and producing an original play that they presented to an audience of elementary and middle school students. The humorous story about a school project sabotaged by a misguided student, and how right won out over wrong, in the end, was a great message.
It took a lot of dedication and practice to create and bring their characters to life. The students did a great job avoiding stage fright to give a memorable performance. Mrs. Carpenter, the drama teacher, said "I have seen a lot of growth in these girls as individuals, and it was a pleasure to work with them to help them achieve greater potential as actors." Drama helps to teach skills that can be used in school, work, and out in the world, so everyone can benefit from being in a drama class at some point in their life!
