Fall Athletics Push Forward Following COVID-19 Guidelines

On Wednesday, September 23, our tennis and volleyball teams competed in their first matches of the 2020-2021 school year. Throughout virtual learning, the status of the fall season was still up-in-the-air, but with the decline of COVID-19 cases and a lowering of the threat level, our players were able to practice and compete this week.

During virtual learning in August and the start of September, most of our athletes were unable to participate in practices on campus, but completed virtual practices at home to prepare for the possibility of competition. On September 21, all athletes were cleared to practice while following strict safety measures such as distancing, cleaning volleyballs before and after each practice, and wearing masks at all times.

After two days of practice, our volleyball and tennis teams headed to TCIS to face off against the dragons. Our students showed resilience and good sportsmanship as they took on the competition. Although spectators were not allowed in the gyms or stands, our teams supported each other by watching the live streams in a space set aside by the host school.

We are so proud of our athletes and hopeful for the rest of the season to come!
