ES Boys’ Basketball Teams Victorious in Jamborees

YISS hosted the elementary boys' basketball jamboree on March 16 against five other schools. This year Mr. Swinger and Mr. Heil coached three YISS boys' teams. The All-Star teams played well, beating Dalton in the first round with Andy L. (5) leading the team in assists and steals. In the second round, the Guardians beat SFS with Tyler P. (5) grabbing the most rebounds. The boys played SIS in the championship but lost a close game. The other two YISS teams also played very well, losing only once while playing with hustle and determination.

On April 27, the YISS boys participated in the last elementary basketball jamboree of the school year, which was held at KIS. The three YISS boys’ teams played against five other international schools in the tournament. The two teams that Mr. Swinger coached played very well and won all of their games. All their hard work during practices this season paid off in their victories against their opponents. The All-Star team, coached by Mr. Heil, won all of their games and made it to the finals, where they played a very talented Chadwick team and lost. Overall, the boys had a successful tournament since they worked well together and showed good teamwork and sportsmanship.
