Students Spend Spring Break with Children in Cambodia

Over Spring Break 2023, four incredibly brave teachers and eleven very special YISS high school students had an experience of a lifetime. We had the opportunity to travel to Cambodia and work with a missions organization called HISChild International. 

During our time in Cambodia, we were able to make meaningful connections with children as we facilitated vacation-Bible-school-style activities at several venues. We were also able to spend some time learning about Cambodia’s dark past. In spite of the hardships that many people in Cambodia have faced and still face today, we were consistently blessed by the warmth and love that people showed us each day. 

The days were hot and tough; however, students consistently went out of their way to love and serve people that they had never met before the trip. As our week of service ended, it was clear that the people of Cambodia had left a special place in all of our hearts. Until next time, Cambodia! ដល់ពេលក្រោយទៀត កម្ពុជា!
