Cross Country Finishes Strong Despite Challenges

The Varsity Cross Country season was hampered by the switch to virtual school during our first tryout week and having Chuseok break happen right after we returned for a full tryout week. We had one week of actual practice before our first meet and only three meets before the KAIAC Championship meet on October 31. Nevertheless, the runners did their best at each meet.

This was captain Harrison's last year, as well as fellow senior Taerin, and Harrison led the team on and off the course--even making contributions for how practice should run in order to have the team ready for Saturdays.

The girls had new runners this year, like Lina and Sylvia, who boosted the quality of our already fast team, including Alex (girls captain) and Leah. For the boys, Timothy trained hard on his own before the official start of the season and was able to achieve all-conference as well as all-tournament status; Ian ran hard at meets, staying in the top 3 for YISS boys, and even had a top-ten finish.
