Athletics
YISS Athletics' mission is to develop integrity and to instill a passion for excellence in our athletes while reinforcing the educational mission of YISS through the experiences undergone in the athletic arena.
Truth
A YISS athlete sees the sports arena as a picture of life. Life truths learned on the field are a part of the educational goals, and the athlete has the privilege of learning these lessons through his or her athletic experiences.

A YISS athlete has earned the privilege to participate in interscholastic athletic contests.

Excellence
A YISS athlete experiences success. Success is measured by the excellence displayed on the field and the growth of the team and individual athletes. Growth is a greater measure of success than the winning of any championship.
A YISS athlete has a
joy for competition
within the rules of the game.

Diversity
A YISS athlete believes the diversity of the team is its greatest strength and not its weakness. Every individual involved and all the various parts of the team, moving together in cooperation, make the whole team better.

A YISS athlete has an expectation to demonstrate sportsmanship and citizenship.
