Middle Schoolers Encouraged to Pursue Their “Pure Adventure” on Retreat
The middle school spiritual retreat from Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1 was a time of fun, sharing, learning, and connecting for 150 of our 6th-8th graders. The theme, “Pure Adventure,” was presented throughout the weekend to help encourage students in finding THEIR adventure, waiting for the adventure that is YET to come, and saying YES to the adventure God has planned for their lives.
Activities included repelling and a ropes course that challenged the students both physically and mentally, large group discussions and games requiring teamwork and cooperation, and small group discussions to connect students with one another and deepen personal relationships with God. Students also enjoyed playing basketball, soccer, board games, inflatable “bubble soccer” balls, or chatting with their friends.
The event culminated with an evening bonfire, delicious s’mores, and a time of personal reflection for the students about what they would take away from the weekend. Participating staff members felt blessed to be a part of the weekend and will continue to pray for students to be open to God's “Pure Adventure” for their lives.

Special thanks to all the teachers who volunteered their weekend to tirelessly serve and encourage the students, and to invest in their lives.
