At the end of the last quarter, seventh grade drama students performed their original play, Holiday in the Rainforest 2.0, for the 3rd and 5th grade classes. The story revolved around a group of girls who decided to take a trip to the rainforest in order to have a better summer vacation than some of their friends, but in the end, they discovered what was really important in life and what was just for show. Along the way, they meet a pair of alligators who take them on a tour of the rainforest where they meet a Chicle tree, a macaw, a butterfly, a frog, a scientist, and a local native, all who help them see why it is important to protect the world they live in. 

The students did an excellent job working around the challenges of producing and practicing a play with both virtual and in-person classes. YISS middle school has a lot of talent that will soon be out there taking over the stage!
